A Focus on Mitsubishi Electric Technologies ; Installations across the Middle East Region
Case 1 Kingdom Centre / Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Mitsubishi Electric delivered a total of 46 elevators and 22 escalators during the period of 1998 to 1999 for this prestigious Tower. In addition to their durability and energy-saving operation, they also offer a luxurious and comfortable ride with minimal noise and vibration. Their high speed performance reduces waiting times, as well as a smoother entry and exit experience for guests.
Case 2 The Avenues / Kuwait
Spiral escalators, which are exclusively manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric and installed in locations around the world were chosen in this installation for their uniqueness and added value. Installed in the atrium of the ‘Prestige District’ which is home to stores selling luxury brands, they deliver a polished and high-end aesthetic to the space.
For a Sustainable World : Energy Conservation and Recycling Technology
Theme 1 Reduce Power Consumption by Buildings
We are conserving energy by using regenerative power from elevators. Using highly efficient converters, the regenerative power generated during elevator operation can be effectively used for powering equipment in the building.
This results in energy savings of around 35%.
Theme 2 Towards ZEB (net Zero Energy Buildings)
We are conducting proof-of-concept testing using 'SUSTIE', a building created for demonstrating ZEB technologies. Significantly reducing energy consumption through energy savings and energy creation while maintaining a comfortable indoor environment, we will bring our annual energy balance of usage and generation to less than zero.
SUSTIE reduces energy usage by 62.5%. Solar power accounts for 43.7% of the electricity created. The resulting energy savings compared to a normally constructed building is 106%.
Theme 3 Achieving Energy Conservation at Data Centers
For over 50 years, we have rolled -out IT cooling solutions. Combining the latest technology with highly-efficient chillers able to withstand high temperatures leads to improved cooling capacity per unit of floor space. This can help to create energy efficient data centers.
Theme 4 Utilising Plastic Recycling Technology to Eliminate Wasted Resources
We engage in "closed-loop" recycling. That means we recycle plastic collected from waste home appliances and use it to create new home appliances. Only the Mitsubishi Electric Group's unique technology can turn transform a mixture of different plastics into high-quality plastic.
*These white materials are pellets recycled from air-conditioners. They are recycled materials that will be turned into various new products.
